I want to become a AAA member (for Roadside assistance).
1.Which membership type is good, Premier or Plus?
I won't travel much, but atleast one long trip for a month.. and general weekly intercity travel..
2. What they mean by "Free tows (four) of up to 100 driving miles per disablement" ? 400 miles per year or 25 miles per year?
3. If I signup as a memeber today, do they start covering me from tomorrow?
Please let me know the answers and your experiences.
Thanks in advance
Call AAA, they have very nice people that know all the answers better than anyone on this site unless they work for AAA, like me :-) For your situation I would advise a Plus membership. You get 4 road service calls per year. Road service is lockout, change flat tire, enough gas to get to a station, jump start, or a tow. Each tow could be up to 100 miles. Plus has other goodies that you should ask those nice people I mentioned. I hope you never need me, but if you do, you'll be glad you're a member.
I have had the Plus for years since I live in a ruaral area and a tow would never be a short distance. When I lived in Florida, they towed my car from Tampa to Ocala. Great service and people. If you join and they give you a number (card number) you would be covered right away.
it's all about what You can afford
